Back Pain? Physical Therapy Can Help.

If you have back pain, you are not alone! Did you know that approximately 80% of adults will have back pain in their lifetime? Significant research has been done in response to the prevalence of back pain and persistent back injuries, and the research has increased understanding of why your back hurts.

Yes, you have heard it before, but poor posture is a major factor:  This includes seated, standing, and sleeping posture, as well as your posture when in motion. Repeated movements that lead to "muscle imbalances” can cause back pain. It is essential that the treatment of spine care begin with an evidence-based understanding of healthy movement and why back pain happens, and as a Physical Therapist (PT) trained by the McKenzie Institute International, I have that knowledge. Manual therapy, movement retraining, stretching, and strengthening allow the spine to heal and function more optimally.

Physical Therapy has proven to be more helpful for acute & chronic back pain than previously understood. Whether you have a herniated disc, bulging disc, or you are suffering with sciatica or other pain, my mission is to teach patients what this means, how to correct it, and why it's not so bad! Just because an X-ray or MRI shows an issue, you are not relegated to a life of pain. I’d love to help you feel better and teach you what you need to know about your spine.
