What To Expect

Whitefish Therapy & Sport Center provides a welcoming and safe environment for all of our patients.

What should I bring to my first Physical, Occupational, &/or Speech Therapy visit?

For your convenience you may download & print the required PATIENT FORMS, please see above to choose your packet . We ask that you arrive at least 5 minutes ahead of your visit to present your information to the front office.

If you choose not to print your paperwork, please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time to complete the necessary paperwork.

Please Bring:

  • A prescription from your doctor if you have one

  • Your insurance card or other billing/payment information

  • Any medical reports you would like your therapist to reviee

  • Comfortable clothing

If you are receiving physical therapy, please wear comfortable shoes and loose-fitting clothing for physical activity. We also ask that you wear apparel to expose the treating area such as a sleeveless shirt or tank top for a shoulder injury or shorts for a knee injury.

If you do not bring these items with you, shorts, t-shirts, and gowns are available and we have a changing room for your convenience.

What to expect during my first Physical Therapy visit:

On your first PT visit, the physical therapist will do an evaluation that includes a thorough assessment of overall posture, range of motion, strength, flexibility, and mobility. Your therapist will then discuss their findings with you and develop a rehabilitation program to help attain goals you will set together to get back to optimal function. This program will include how the therapist will facilitate improvement (manual therapy, exercises, and modalities, if necessary) as well as what you can do on your own.

What to expect during my first Occupational Therapy visit:

On your first OT visit, the occupational therapist will do an evaluation that includes a thorough assessment of overall posture, range of motion, strength, flexibility, and mobility. Your therapist will then discuss their findings with you and develop a rehabilitation program to help attain goals you will set together to get back to optimal function. This program will include how the therapist will facilitate improvement (manual therapy, exercises, and modalities, if necessary) as well as what you can do on your own.

What to expect during my first Speech-Language Therapy visit:

On your first ST visit, the speech-language pathologist will do an evaluation that includes a thorough assessment. Your therapist will then discuss their findings with you and develop a rehabilitation program to help attain goals you will set together to get back to optimal function. This program will include how the therapist will facilitate improvement as well as what you can do on your own.
